Footpath Maintenance
Our task, on Tuesday 19th January, cutting back hawthorn and blackthorn along Alfreton FP1
The path worked on this session was being encroached by blackthorn and cutting this back was the requirement to make it more useable. As can be seen there is a fence along the opposite side and the blackthorn, holly and bramble growth had overgrown the path.
A good turnout of volunteers all well armed were headed up by Steve Cresswell brandishing a petrol brush cutter. It was this which certainly made good progress on the job with the team variously clearing away the cut down brush and cutting back and straightening up the line of growth.
