The task:

As part of improvements to the Ecclesbourne Way, this session improved the access

up the steps from Gunhills Lane, install a waymark post pointing across the field.

Also cut back the blackthorn tunnel at the next stile along.

As the statement above says, this work provided much needed improved access to the Ecclesbourne Way and paths in the area. When much growth had been cut back to gain access an assessment of the woodwork was done. Decayed steps were replaced and extra steps put in to ease access on a short but very steep slope.

Across the field from this another stile was improved by adding an extra step and removing Blackthorn which had formed a tunnel over and around the stile. A new way mark post was put in, enabling it to be seen from across the field. This project is ongoing and we will revisit this area next month.
