The task:Cut back up and out growth along South Wingfield BW26
The Amber Valley Working Party today were joined by members of the British Horse Society in clearing a section of Bridleway and Footpath. Steve Cresswell from DCC Countryside Service guided the session which in part was to let the Horse Society members work along side us to see how we went about the tasks involved. From our point of view the ladies from the Horse Society did very well and a lot was learnt about clearance requirements of height and round gates from them. Their help made the clearing of holly, blackthorn and bramble a lighter job for us. In the three hours that the team worked continuously, they cleared just under half a mile of bridleway which meant not only clearing undergrowth for walkers but high overgrowth to allow horse riders to pass safely.
