Hathersage Lido
Leader: Frankie L.
Weather fine.
6 of us walked from Hathersage to Stanage Edge where the views were wonderful and the heather smelt like honey. We reached A57 then headed towards Strines before turning back towards Cutthroat Bridge.
From Cutthroat Bridge we walked over Moscar Moor, surrounded by heather again, following the grouse butts and then a drain before finally reaching the road....not quite where we had expected to be but the tracks were obliterated by the bracken that was completely overgrown. After negotiating a barbed wire fence, we were back on route and heading towards Hathersage. We could see bad weather across the Hope Valley, the Great Ridge and beyond but we were lucky as the rain only started just before we arrived back at the cars. Frankie
