Another good turnout for this, unexpectedly shortened walk, leaving from the car park, going down the steps and up through The Park, exiting onto Mill Lane, dropping down into the small Bathhouse Park. We climbed the next field to join, Kirk’s Lane and then continued up the unmade part of Mill Lane, to cross over Sandbed Lane at the top. A few yards on a flooded track, then to turn right going along a ginnel at the back of the houses along the easter side of Sandbed Lane, to Bargate. We crossed over the road junction and made our way in the small recreation ground and had our morning break seated around the playground apparatus, some of which made for good seating.

Next, we set off for Wildersley Farm, passing this to make our way along Wildersley Lane, to join the Belper end of Bargate Lane, near St. Swithun’s church. Now we made our way amongst the house to re-enter The Park and make our way steadily down into the Coppice car park, arriving there, just before eleven forty-five and I sense just before the first drops of rain to fall, although it didn’t amount to very much. Thanks Jane.
