Weather 15°C. Dry
No. on walk 15
15 peeps set off from Atlow Village on an undulating 6.7/7.00 mile walk.
Went along Ridge Lane past the solar farm down to the "boulders" where we all found a perch for
coffee. Peeps were interested in an inverted tree stump that looked as though it had a fright, others
investigated the wood hutch, thought one of us was measuring up to move in!!!😂
We then walked Kniveton Lane & Foxholes Lanes to Kniveton itself passing the Library ( telephone box ) to arrive
at Kniveton church for lunch. Plenty of benches albeit in separated locations.
After lunch, traversed fields & tracks to Winn Lane, with views to both Thorpe Cloud and Carsington, back to Atlow. The sun came out for the 2nd half of the walk.
A few of us purchased preserves in the church. Everyone enjoyed the day, doing just under 7 miles with NO STLIES.
I will try the alternative walk, in the same area, via Hognaston next time. Terry M.
