A good turnout, for this quite hilly walk, but, as you can see we had some greay views, even, from atop of Harboro' Rocks we could make out the distant Wrekin, a recognisable hill outline, which is in Shropshire. Forunately, there was only one field of cows and calves to negotiate, they posed no problem, for us as we walked around the edge of their pasture, rather than the for fields, which I encounted on my Recce'. An enjoyable day out amoonst the more rocky parts of Derbyshire's Limestone area, the White peak.
We walked anticlockwise from the car park in Wirksworth Dale, crossing over Manystones Road to climb Harbor' Rocks, a quick pause to watch some novice climbers taking the hard way up. Now down and along Griffe Walk to turn left onto the Limestone Way. At its junction with the High Peak Trail, we tured right along it, leaving it to walk through Peak Quarry Farm. After crossing the Longcliffe Road, we rejoined the Limestone Way and then to eventually leave it, dropping down into Brassington and going through the church yard and make our way through the village and Maddock Lake, to get back to the cars before one.
