14 of us met at Minninglow car park. Since my last visit a new pay machine had been installed but unfortunately it was not functioning properly. It is solar powered and this morning was rather grey.
We eventually set off and had an early morning break at Roystone Rocks. There was a cold wind but we managed to shelter amongst the rocks. From here we headed downhill towards Roystone Grange then took the track down the dale.
We next walked above Ballidon and Hoe Grange Quarries before crossing fields then a tricky woodland descent into Parwich. Our lunch stop was in the playground where there was plenty of seating for all of us though someone preferred the roundabout!
The route back to the car park was a gradual but constant ascent over fields. Once we reached Uppermoor Farm we were on tracks and minor roads that were mostly flat. The return was very muddy in parts but the sun came out making the views even better. Frankie.
